The other day I received a phone call enquiry, and the person on the other end of the line wanted to know what was the success rate of hypnotherapy.
So let us have a look at what can impact on hypnotherapy success rate.
Firstly it is the quality of the therapist which means that clients should check that the therapist is registered with some professional bodies to ensure that she/he has received quality training that combines studying the theory and also the therapist needs to experience hypnotherapy by themselves. When the therapists experience hypnotherapy themselves, this gives them more insight into how the therapy works and how it feels being hypnotised.
Therapists should also be proactive in expanding their skills and knowledge by attending CPD workshops to offer the best to their clients.
Secondly, I believe that you need to feel comfortable with your therapist because the work is always a joined process, in other words, it is teamwork.
Additionally, a significant part of therapy success depends on the client and his/hers commitment and readiness to let go and embrace the change.
So what do I mean by that? During the sessions, I will use techniques which will help you to make changes. Also after some sessions, I will give you recordings and advise you to play them at home to reinforce the treatment. It is up to you to make an effort and follow my recommendations.
We need to understand that successful therapy is a process and we need to be willing to follow the instructions and stay focused and committed to improving our lives.
It is the same as going to the GP and when the GP says you need to follow healthier diet it is up to you to do it. Nobody can do that for you.
So I would like to invite you to take responsibility for the outcome of your therapy and check your readiness to be committed to the process.
There is no magic but a simple following of instructions and willingness to change and knowing that YOU are the one making those changes on conscious and subconscious levels with the help of YOUR mind!
